The still church echoed with the sound of her heels hitting the stone floor of the old church. The weather outside matched her mood within; Angery and dark. Rain hit the ground and the roof and the windows, causing Mary to cry. Angela walked with a purpose... Tonight she would ask for forgiveness for the last time...
Her dark eyes went around the church, making sure it was empty as she made her way to the alter. She stopped a few feet away, did the cross, forehead, down, left right and kneeled before the larger cross in front of her. "Forgive me," she whispered to Him, "Forgive me for all the things I will do," she looked up at the larger cross, her eyes tearing up. "I'm done," she admitted taking in a deep breath, "I'm done doing the good deeds. I'm just... done."
She lowered her head and let everything sink in. She couldn't bring her family back, she couldn't even help people any more. She had even managed to bring back a vampire from a different dimension. What the hell was going on? Well, she was done. She was turning her back on things.
No good deed goes unpunished...

"Words like those tend to come back and bite you when you least expect it," where Alucard had come from couldn't be told but it hardly mattered, he was there now. What little light there was reflected brightly off his sunglasses that hid his eyes. Most of him was hidden in shadow. If it weren't for the highlights on his pale skin or red coat it might be called to question whether he was there at all. He eyed Angela. Something about her was different, he could feel it in every ounce of his being. "I seem to recall thinking something similar when I was younger," his voice was deep and seemed to resonate throughout the whole church. Any Romanian accent he might've had at some point was gone. In fact, there was hardly a trace of him having a British accent either.

Angela's brown eyes slowly opened, the hair on the back of her neck stood up, much like it did when she was getting used to Angel living with her. Her eyes glanced towards the voice, though she had to tilt her head to see him.
"You're not me," she replied, her words echoing against the walls. Her tone was dark, though not quiet threatening... just... angry. "You don't know me and the last I checked I don't know you or you life situation." she mumbled turning back to the cross, hoping that the stranger would take a hint.

"My life isn't in question," he answered, tilting his head forward slightly to glance over the rims of his glasses at her, "And odds are, whatever your problem may be, it's nothing like mine." Normally, anyone in Angela's situation would've been... upset with him. It was almost like he was gloating about having a miserable life. But, the way he said it was so matter of factly, something years of experiance and wisdom had brought him to understand and accept, it would've had the same effect if he'd told her the sky was blue or that a pound of apples cost $1.99 down the street at the corner mart.

Okay, so was this man trying to make her feel sorry for him? It wasn't going to work. She wasn't going to feel sorry for him, and she sure as well didn't him to feel sorry for her. She sighed, showing her agitation slightly. All she wanted to do was sit in the stillness and solitude of the church, and this guy was ruining it.
She stood up slowly, her magic flowing through her viens, though she ignored it. She walked towards the stranger, her soft eyes going hard. She stopped a few feet from the man, their shoes almost touching, and she leaned in close to him, she could smell something familiar about him... something she couldn't put her finger on.
"Neither is my life," she replied, her tone a hard whisper, refering to the question part. Her hand slowly cruled into a fist as she prepared for the worst from the stranger. Had it been a few months ago, or even a few days ago Angela would have allowed the stranger to get the best of her, which usually, with her luck resolted in badness on her side.

As she got closer to him, Angela could smell the scent that had embedded itself into Alucard's clothes. It wasn't a bad smell, just old. Old country-side before modern technology touched it, old spices long forgotten, and the faintest touch of cigar smoke. He smirked, "At least you still have yours." His red eyes flashed, "And if so, why are you here? If there's one place to question where your life has turned, this is it."

'At least you still had one...' the words echoed around her head, bouncing off the memories of the smell and the feeling she got from him... Oh. Right. Vampire. Well... d**n...
/Did/ she still have a life? She had been going through the motions, taking it as it were, not really living, just existing... So was that a life? Somehow, she doubted it.
"I've been questioning for five years," she hissed at him, leaning in more, as if challenging him. Sometimes, she wasn't entirely the brightest. "He turned His back on me without an answer I turn my back on him," she stated coldly. Five years... This stranger wouldn't know anything about her life. So what if he's was what he was? It wasn't her fault, and sure as well wasn't his fault she was where she was. So what did he care? What did he want from her?
After a few moments of hard glaring she leaned back slighlty, taking the oppertunity to fully give him a run down... Red sunglasses, a little Matt Murdock, wasn't he? And-did he have red eyes? Creepy... He wasn't as attartive as Angel was, but he wasn't entirely too bad on the eyes. Huh.

He shrugged, "Your choice. The Devil likes it when it's that easy. Though, that might lead you into the recieving end of a Slayer." His eyes lit up, glowing brightly for a few seconds. His smirk could be heard in his voice, "Or worse."

She tilted her head slowly towards him, her brows raised in a silent glare... The devil? Yeah... she wasn't that stupid. She glared for a moment, letting the news sink in and suddenly began to laugh.
"Don't take me as a fool, Vampire." she said coldy, turning back towards the exit.

"If I thought you were a fool you'd be dead already." Again, he spoke in such a matter-of-fact tone it was like nothing in the world could possibly upset him or cause him to sound threatening for any reason. "I don't generally hold with those sorts of things and dark witches aren't necessarily my favorite either."

She stopped in mid step and slowly turned towards him once more. Was he calling her a dark witch? /Was/ she a dark witch? Well, she had summoned a vampire back from the dead... though he was a vampire with a soul so that was completely different right? Right?!
She sighed slowly and shook her head laughing once again. It was funny to her... Dark witch. "You come in here, think you know everything there is to know about me, and just... naturally assume?" she asked turning around and crossing her arms and continuing with the head shaking. "No, see... That's where you don't have your facts straight," she told him with a shrug. "I'm not a dark witch. I'm not a Glinda, I'm not a Wicked Witch of the West, I'm a freelancer." she chose the words carefully, smoothly. "I'm gray." she rolled her eyes and sighed. "Get your facts straight before you naturally assume anything." she rolled her eyes again. Why was he still talking to her? Obviously he wasn't going to kill her... Yet... Well... curiousity got the better of her...
"Why do you care any way?"

Alucard brushed aside the Glinda comment, he didn't know what it meant. It was irrelevant either way. "I don't care. I just figured a fair warning before I have to kill you would be polite."

She stopped once again, turning her head to give him a hard glare then slowly turned to face him, holding out her arms in a defeneseless way. "If you truly wanted to kill me," she whispered, flipping her hair back and revealing her neck, "I think you would have done it already," she said dropping her arms and flipping her hair back to the front. Probably wasn't the smartest move ever, but it was true. She had learned from Angel that vampires were fast-very fast, this stranger could have taken her in four seconds? Less?

"I don't think you understand," he said darkly, staring her down with his bright eyes that had almost a hypnotic effect. "You have yet to do anything that truly deserves death. This is merely a warning."
