There was a woman talking to him... At least he thought it was a woman. He didn't care enough to have looked closely enough. And, she wasn't really talking to him so much as at him, long ago Alucard had mastered the art of appearing to care when he wasn't hearing a word you were saying. He was staring at the couple across the room. Not that she could tell. She just kept blathering on and on at the pretty face that'd attracted her to him in the first place and the hollow reflection of his sunglasses (which even covered the sides of his eyes). She kept trying to grab his hand - to have a good look at the tattoo on it, he assumed - and he was having none of that.
Alucard was beyond out of his element. Not only was he in a new country and a new town full of customs that lacked any sort of sense to him, he was in a night club. Before he'd hated them merely on principle. All the flashing lights and people packed together like sardines... it wasn't natural. Not to mention strange women walk up to you and start talking about nothing. Now that he'd experianced it first hand, hate wasn't an adequate adjective. Neither was loathe. He started listing old Romanian curses in his head too, but none of those seemed adequate either.
The couple was moving. Thank GOD. Rather quickly, they were heading outside. Without a word, Alucard rose from his seat and stealthily followed after them, leaving the girl to be shocked and insulted by herself.
Several minutes later....
A young man tore down the alley. Panic blazing in his eyes, he didn't even see the garbage can as he plowed into it. He stumbled, but managed to keep going. Unfortunately, it was already too late and his balance was gone and he tripped, skidding on the rough pavement. Desperately, he clawed at the ground, trying to scramble to his feet as the looming shadow approached. Still on the ground, he turned to come face to face with his demise. There Alucard stood, towering above him, silhouetted against the night sky, yet he could still see his glowing red eyes and sharp white teeth.
"What the hell are you?!" he challenged... or at least that's what he thought. It was more of a squeal of despiration.
The teeth grinned wide like a Cheshire cat. Alucard chuckled.
The man's eyes widened. Desperately, he tried to do something, anything, back away, scream, fight back, anything, but he knew it was of no use.
Blood sprayed across the alley, but no one would notice. It would all be gone in a few minutes anyway.
