History:
Evelyn Ford was born on April 17th to Jasmine and Taylor Ford. Jasmine was an art dealer and Taylor taught Karate and was also a college drama teacher. Evelyn had an older brother who she idealized, and wanted to be like him. Evelyn had a pretty normal life with her family. She was made fun of during her school life because she was smarter than the others, almost a full grade smarter. She learned other forms of fighting, besides Karate from her father’s friends, as Taylor was one to believe in self-defense. She also took ballet, tap and was also starting to learn the tango.
When she was 12, after one of her school’s performances of “The Nut Cracker”, the family sedan sled on ice, and caused a very large accident, killing Jasmine and sending Evelyn into what would become a five-year coma. She also suffered from memory loss, though her motor functions were not unharmed. It was three years before she woke from the peaceful darkness that she began to have dreams. Vivid dreams of past and an odd present, about demons and monsters she’d never seen before. They were also memories of girls she had never seen, men and women talking to him, though Evelyn could not understand them. She dreamed her death over and over again-as someone else. Try as she may, she could not wake up from the vivid nightmares. Reality blended in with those dreams, what memories she had left began to fade as these replaced them. Through the years the nightmares continued. She lost all of who she was, what she could be. She forgot what was real and what wasn’t. All she knew was her first name and that the world was full of something terrible.
It wasn’t until a dream of a woman, holding an ax before her, offering it to Evelyn, who could feel the power flowing from the ax, she reached for it and when she touched it, the power burned through her and a demon seemed to lunged from behind, snarling; “It is time!” causing her to scream and wake up in pain. After re-gaining her motive skills, she headed out of the hospital.
Sample:
It was hard for her to breathe, as if something was forcing air into her lunges, but she couldn’t take the air in fast enough… Or was it the thing forcing her was giving it too slow? She didn’t know, all she knew was she had to live. She tore the thing from her, making sure that she would, indeed live.
After regaining her breathing she took the chance to glance around her surroundings. She didn’t know what they were. She gasped slightly, still seeing rotting corpses on the ground, though they were not there. The rolls were covered in blood and rot and darkened because of smoke… Though they were normal to any other eyes. She let out a small scream, drawing her legs towards her, covering her ears with her head. Beeping. She could hear non-stop beeping. The beeping would tell the creatures out there that she was there and alive. She couldn’t let them know, she had to stop the beeping. She looked up, her dark eyes seeing the bloodied device that was giving her away. Without hesitation she drew her arm back and smashed her small fist into its gut, turning the beeping off. That’s when she noticed the tubes and little things sticking from her arms. Oh God… they were doing something to her? Making her a meal? Preparing her for a meal? No! She had to /live./ It was one thing she learned in the darkness. She had to live.
She ripped the tubes and little things from her skin, some of it was painful, but it had to be done. Little pain was worth more than a lot of pain. She glanced around, making sure the demons hadn’t heard her, before going for the door. Before she got there, however, it swung open, and before her stood two demons, their eyes glowing red and their teeth bared. She let out another scream, but she before she could fall to the ground in fear, something else took over. She knew what to do. She raised her left leg and swung it around, hitting the demon on the right in the gut. She didn’t take any time to quickly dispose of the other demon, a square punch in the jaw as her leg came back down did the trick nicely.
She took a step out, glancing down the corridor to see any more demons. Some passed, but did not see her. Fully aware that her rear was exposed, she bent down and took the bottoms of one of the demons, they wouldn’t need it, they were demons after all. She slid them on quickly, thankful that the demon was so large, as she could move freely around the pants. Another glance and she was down the hall at a quick pace. There was a window at the end… If she ran quickly, she’d be able to make it.
She took in a deep breath and sprinted, holding her head high as her hair flew behind her. She meet another demon that tried to stop her escape from the prison she was in, but slide and a fist to the kneecap rendered him useless and in pain. Soon she was crashing through the window, glass shards cutting into her skin-little pain was better than a lot of pain. She closed her eyes, feeling herself falling-it wasn’t long until she hit the ground at a roll. Monsters were screaming at her. People were there, but people didn’t exist anymore. They weren’t real. She sprinted off, her bare feet hitting the pavement. Flashes of things she knew passed her as she ran, curiosity made her want to stop and see what they were, but as she ran she whispered: "It's just an object. It doesn't have meaning,"
Demons and monsters tried to stop her. A few on demon animals, which because the demons carried around a weapon that fired something, she disposed of them quickly-the animals the demons used.
Soon she was out of the town, and her instincts, her feelings made her go to Salem.
Secret word: Boo. (Almost forgot about this as I've already typed it. Hehe... ^.^' My bad.)
