He glanced momentarily down at where she'd touched him, then back up at her face. "Yeah..." he trailed off slightly, but then his brain gave him a swift kick, "Eventually, I um.. stopped being a ghost, but for a while there..."

Buffy realising that her hand still lingered on his arm quickly pulled it back. She walked to a picture of the day after the destruction of Sunnydale. Remebering the night Spike 'died'. "Wait one minute." She said to herself, "You mister called me a liar, and made me feel like crap for two years, all because you called me a liar, on the day you died. you sir have some explaining to do." she said sternly.

Spike wrinkled his brow, "What? he took a few steps away from her, "What are you talking about?"

She knew she probably wasn't making sense but she continued, "Back in the cave, when it was coming down , I told you I loved you and you told me I didn't you called me a liar." She clarified.

Spike's shields went up. As much as he would deny it, it was always easy to tell when Spike was in defensive mode emmotionally. "When the world's about to end people say a lot of things they don't mean, you included, love. You don't love me, Buffy. You never did. I learned to accept that."

"Your right I never did, but you still don't have to tell a girl that she's a liar as you rlast words." Buffy said feeling hurt that Spike didn't believe her. She knew at the time she didn't mean it, but the first year that he wasn't there she found that she missed him alot. "Anyways, is there a certain reason why your here." She said chainging the topic and going into full slayer mode.

Spike was taken off guard. The fact that he couldn't remember why he was here didn't help much either. So, he did the only logical thing and made one up. "I was just passing through and the sun's coming up soon... Thought I'd at least ask for a place to crash until I can move along my merry way."

Buffy thought of where she could keep the vampire. "You can stay in the guest room." Buffy said finally not really liking the idea, but then again finding it nice. "Here I'll show you where." She said after a few moments, leading him down the hall and into a small bedroom.

Spike followed her down the hallway. "It's... nice," he quickly scanned over the room. It was small, but beggars can't be chosers. He took off his coat and tossed it on the bed. His black t-shirt had been adorned with a few shiny things, including, but not limited to safety pins for that punk effect that he'd seemed to have grown fond of again. And... was it possible his pants were tighter?

Buffy gave Spike a last glance, looking over his new style of clothing, she then turned to leave, "Well I'll leave you to...ummm....do whatever you do." She said, "I'll be in the kitchen if you need anything." Buffy said as she walked out and to the kitchen, she hadn't realised how hungry she was and it was majorly time for some munching.

Okay... This was awkward. Spike stood there for a while, not sure what to do with himself. He glanced at the clock on the night stand. Hardly bedtime for vampires. Not having anything better to do he decided to follow after Buffy into the kitchen.

Buffy opened the fridge yet again, leaving off from before the doorbell rang, scanning the fridge for some munchies. She sighed at the not very snacky fridge, it only had a few items in it and none were snackage material. Shutting the door, she leaned back up against the kitchen counter, and held her head in her hands. Her head was still spinning from the shock of Spike being back.

"It'd probably be asking too much if there was something in there for me to eat," he said wandering into the kitchen, a slight smirk on his face.

Buffy lifter her head from her hands and went back to the fridge, "Well unless you want raw meat, then no." She informed him, "If you want I could go pick some up in the morning, or you could tonight." Buffy said, although around here they might find it weird someone buying blood." She added, not sure how people here would react.

"I'll get some in the morning," Spike said, inviting himself to sit down. He started fidgeting with whatever was on the table, again not entirely sure what to do with himself. He looked up at Buffy like he was going to say something, then stopped and resumed looking at the table top.
